Voices of Harvest Awards is a unique platform celebrating the contributions of India’s farming community, launched by PepsiCo India under its Partnership of Progress philosophy
December 10, 2025: An inspiring farmer from Rajkot, Gujarat, Nita Kanani, was recognized for her exceptional contributions to the agriculture sector at PepsiCo India’s Voices of Harvest Conference and Awards 2025 in New Delhi. Nita Kanani received the RevolutioNari in Farming Award for her outstanding work in cultivating indigenous crops and Biochar Farm Residue.
Guided by its Partnership of Progress philosophy, PepsiCo India hosted the second edition of the Voices of Harvest Awards 2025 to celebrate individuals driving sustainable transformation in Indian agriculture. Ten farmers from across the country were recognized for their leadership, innovation, and community impact. They were selected after a rigorous evaluation by an external jury of agricultural experts.
Nita Kanani was felicitated by the Chief Guest, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. Addressing the gathering, he said, “For us, farmers are not just annadata, but jeevandata, the very source of our nation’s strength. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, we are committed to ensuring food security, raising productivity, improving soil health, and securing farmers’ income. Our mission is clear: to make India the food basket of the world while preserving our land for future generations. Serving our farmers is, and will always remain, our greatest form of service to the nation.”
About Nita Kanani
Nita Kanani’s journey in agriculture entrepreneurship reflects vision, perseverance, and a deep commitment to transforming rural livelihoods. As Founder of Sajeevan Life Pvt. Ltd., she has led from the grassroots, turning her own family farm experience into a platform for sustainable and regenerative agriculture. Under her leadership, Sajeevan Life has built a full-stack model integrating biochar-based regenerative farming, organic fertilizer production, and carbon credit monetization, ensuring both environmental restoration and income diversification for smallholders. Her entrepreneurial acumen enabled the company to collaborate with leading institutions like Banas Dairy and to win recognition from UN Women and CARE Accelerator for empowering women farmers.
Ms. Nita Kanani’s journey has been marked by persistence in overcoming systemic and social barriers faced by women in agriculture. She addressed these challenges through consistent field engagement, financial discipline, and community trust-building. Nituben overcame this by mobilizing local women’s groups, training them in composting, biofertilizer preparation, and quality control.
She has mentored and organized women into producer groups and community-based enterprises focused on regenerative agriculture and organic input production. Her approach blends capacity-building with confidence-building, positioning women as equal stakeholders in the agrarian economy. Over 50,000 farmers—50% of them women, have adopted regenerative agriculture and organic input practices promoted by her team.
The Voices of Harvest Awards 2025 witnessed the participation of more than 300 farmers, policymakers, agronomists, corporates and academicians, marking an important milestone in advancing regenerative, climate-resilient and inclusive agriculture in India.
